Hi Gold Coast Ladies
I am so glad to hear your ongoing comments on the new GCUH. My surgeon is having the consult with the Oncology and Pathology team to decide on my next step in treatment so I will feel better knowing what to expect in the coming months. Reading your posts has helped me a great deal.
My journey started with my routine mammogram in January and I had no other symptoms , in fact I was feeling great.
Exactly 2 weeks ago I had my lumpectomy and axillary clearance done on left side. Got as good result as I good hope for - clear margin of 2.5 cm, a Grade 1 tumour and only 1 out of 16 lymph nodes removed were positive for cancer. Had CT scan yesterday and getting bone scan on Wed. Have recovered pretty well but finding it hard as I am left handed and automatically go to use it. Still getting used to different sensations in left arm.
I know everyone is different in their diagnosis and treatment but what is good is that we can share our experience and hope that it helps the next person who joins this great site. All part of the healing process.
Step by step ....
