Hi Joy (and Hazel)
Joy your treatment is very similar to mine so we will be going through the first 3 FEC cycles together a day apart. I will try to post something here when I get home after the first one to let you know how it went. Then my weekly Taxol (Paclitaxel) is a very similar drug to your 3-weekly Docetaxel, but my oncologist said the weekly treatment is lower dose (though more frequent) and is usually better tolerated. Hope so.
I am having mine at the Alfred in Melbourne - a big public hospital where I had my radiotherapy 11 years ago. I have not yet seen the room it happens in, but am booked in for a cardio check and then for 'chemo education' with the oncology nurses on Tuesday. I hope the education session will include a tour - if not I will ask for it. Sounds like a great idea to see where it happens. I expect they will tell me more about the practical things like what to bring in with me, as well as about skin care, mouth care etc. And I am visiting the wig library on Wednesday.
Hazel I love your idea of a cancer box to park everything in out of sight. I keep trying to have cancer-free days but the internet is like one enormous cancer box full of information and I succumb far too easily to researching just one more thing. I will try to resist.
