I am sorry that you find yourself in this situation again. I only received my plan yesterday and am glad I don't have to wait too long to get started. I have read all the info on side affects and am over being terrified. It has been two months since my diagnosis and it has all been terrifying. The waiting is the worst. I have read enough info to scare the hell out of me and can't take the stress anymore. I am giving myself a break from thinking about it and won't be reading anymore before I start my treatment and will only refer to it again if I need something.
My chemo treatment consists of 3 weekly cycles of FEC followed by 3 weekly cycles of DOCtaxel. After that I will have 5 weeks of radiotherapy.
Thank you for reinforcing the benefits of seeing a psychologist and I am sure it will be very beneficial. My oncologist and breast cancer nurse both advised me to keep walking leading up to chemo and follow a healthy diet.
I am not happy about losing my hair but have organized a wig that looks exactly the same colour and style as my hair is now. I also have a few little hats and scalves. I have booked myself into the Look Good Feel Better workshop for the 28/1 which is three days prior to my second chemo treatment. Just think by the end of January you and I will have already had two rounds. We are going to be so busy, I am sure the time is going to fly.
I will be thinking of you Viv on the 9th. Please let me know how you go. Where are you having your treatment? Have you seen where it will all take place. I think I feel less nervous having had my little tour and today after my physiotherapy consult I dropped by oncology to ask about what I should bring with me in terms of nourishment. I was told that I will be provided sandwiches and tea etc and that I will be very well looked after. I am going to try very hard not to imagine the side affects and just go with the flow. Well, that's how I am feeling at the moment. :)
All the very best wishes.
Love
Joy xx
