yeh first one under my belt!!
Hi everyone
Thank you so much for all the wonderful messages of encouragement and support!!
I have made it through my first chemo hit!1 Well at least the administration of it - i know the best is yet to come!
i am pleased to say that all went well - no immediate adverse reactions - wore the gorgeous freezing hand mits with the doxetaxel - ouch but there were no other problems thankfully.
It took 2 go's to get a line up and they have recommeded I have a potocath inserted as I am to have herceptin as well as the chemo mix!!
Anyway after the doxeytaxel i had the cyclo one and then a bolus dose of herceptin so all in all I was there for around 6 hours - it will be much shorter next time as the herceptin will be going in for half an hour instead of an hour and a half.
I left with my bag of nausea drugs etc and am now typing this from my bed!!
Nothing serious as I am just feeling wrecked especially after yesterdays delight of another core biopsy on the other side but am delighted to report that my gp phoned me earlier to say it was all clear - yeh I still keep one boob at the moment!!!
Not sure how another mastectomy would fit in with my chemo, radiation and herceptin schedule!!!
Anyway i have taken my nausea pill and am hoping for the best - but I know time will tell how hard the truck will hit!!
The staff at the hospital were very kind and friendly but i have to say - very busy - pretty sad to see how many other people were there for there attack also.
As a friend said can see it as poison or liquid gold cleaning up the muck so i think I am going for gold. I certainly wont be going to the olympics so its the closest Im going to get!!
So good night all - thank you again for the support and encouragement - I am just at the start of this road and know there is much to come!!
So glad to have all you lovely pink ladies to light the way!!
