Hi Anne Maree Sorry to hear that you have not been well. What chemo are you on now? My nausea seems to be getting better, still trying to eat normally though. They gave me Pramin - Metoclopramide tablets for the nausea. I have a protein drink in the morning, and have to start walking again.I am in Sydney, which state are you in?Please let me know how you doing. God bless Desi

Sorry not to reply sooner. I have been unwell last week with toxicitiy issues as far as I can tell, starting to improve 3 rd day off chemo. It is important that the nausea is addressed. I had to take Zofan for a while earlier this year as my nausea was debilitating and lost a lot weight too. Have you talked to your oncologist about the nausea as there are multiple reasons we can have it. 

After 7 months on zeloda ( this is my 6 th different chemo) and I also had internal radiation to my liver in April (SIRT), my gastrointestinal tract is finding it hard to cope with chemo toxicites. I am about to trial activated Alovera juice which came highly recommended from another person who had bowel cancer and has used it successfully for 7 years. This is supposed to put friendly flora into the gut and help the inflammation.

 

Hi Anne Maree Happy to hear you doing good, my only problem is the nausea, I use it juice every morning, but have not done so for the past few months. I take it easy now, have just resigned from work so that I can look after myself and start healing. God bless Desi

I have been on Zeloda for 7 months and have hand and foot syndrome, upset digestive tract on/off. Fatique varies thru the cycle. i started on 3 tabs twice daily but side effects too much so reduced to 2 tabs. My body doesn,t tolerate chemo as well as before and even 2 tabs twice daily with 2 weeks on/ 1 week off was too much. I now take 2 tabs/twice daily 1 week on and 1 week off. 

I am in my 5th year with liver, widespread bone and lung mets. I have had extensive chemo over past 4 years. I was diagnosed with secondary breast cancer. My liver has widespread large tumors now but I am thankful at present I have good quality of life. I can still ride my bike on/off up to 20 km which I am very happy about but I lace my exercise etc with lots of rest. Listening to your body is very important and being ok to look after yourself is very healing.

I embrace healthy lifestyle, juice daily with largely plant based diet ,low stress, am at peace spiritually in my relationship with Jesus.

I've have just started xeloda just two weeks in I'm have the tiredness and nausea hands and feet ok so far, I'm taken 500 mg x3 twice a day hoping to go back to work Monday not sure how I will go the tiredness I can handle but the nausea another thing also I cough a lots mets on lungs and liver just spend a week in hospital with infection so they changed my tablets because they didn't think the afinitor and Aromasin was working looking forward to next week of the xeloda. Hi Desi,I am on 500mg x2 tabs twice a day for 2 weeks then a week off also.

I have been on Xeloda for 12 months & have not lost any hair.  It may be a bit slower growing, but that is a saving at the hair dressers.
