Worst week yet
So I thought I was handling all of this cancer crazyness ok but this fertility aspect of it has really knocked me for a six.
Have now had 3 internal ultrasounds and 6 blood tests to monitor my hormones and watch the one folical we are going to try and catch. Ive been super emotional and think it is because I dont feel like I know what is going on with this part of the treatment so it is harder to get my head around it. The unexpected bill of $3,785 didnt help either! :-(
I still dont have a date for the egg harvest and ovarie section chop yet but I DO have the start date for my chemo now. Monday the 30th. Yup. Only 8 days away.
With all the other appoinments I have at the moment I realised that yesterday was the only day I had free to get my hair cut short before starting chemo so off I went to the hair dresser for the chop.
I hate it! As in really really hate it. Infact I think I might even be happy when my hair starts to fall out and and Im looking forward to shaving it! Feeling pretty low all this week.
One of my awesome friends took Friday off work and we went out to Healesville. It was so nice to get away from the city and have a day where I didnt need to go to the hospital. We walked around the Maroondah Reservoir Park and visited a jeweller we know to check out his shop.
Have ended up putting a necklace on lay by as I had been looking for something to treat myself with (even though I shouldnt be spending money with all these bills!). The necklace is just lovely. It has a round rich orange citrine in the center with a pebble that has been cut in half set above and below it. I will post a picture of it once I pay it off. It actually has a name: Solar Descent; as he got the design idea watching the sunset at Phillip Island and the pebble is from the beach there. The name seems pretty fitting for this situation to me. The sun sets and it is dark for awhile but it does rise again! It will remind me that things get better.
This week I have: My brother staying for a few days before moving to Canada to live, another internal ultrasound, another blood test, the operation for egg/ovarie harvest, a friends wedding and the first chemo round.
Feeling a bit overwhelmed.
