worried isn't the word

l recently had my six monthly CT scan for observation for recurrence and my Onc is concerned about something that he is saying looks like pluracy around the top of my right lung, He has scheduled another CT in 3 months and said he will have a very close look at it, l also found out that l have a 4mm lesion on my liver but that has stayed the same size for a year, the Doctor is saying it's a very little chance of it being metz.

l am so upset and just cant get my head around it plus l have been experiance pain in my upper side of the lung and have bouts of shortness of  breath.

The tears are comming more often and l'm tired of worring all the time, could this be Cancer?

  • Pleurisy is usually the after result of an upper respiratory infection. So have you been sick recently? The outer membranes of the lung are inflamed and rub together causing much pain when you breathe. Are you taking antibiotics and/ or anti inflammatory drugs?I can understand you being worried and upset- I would be too. After we've had breast cancer, any aches.pains, tests and scans tend to make us jump to a cancer conclusion.I think I would find it hard to wait 3 months and see what happens- unless the pleurisy can be explained(ie following a virus).A" lesion"on the liver could be anything (it's a generic term)but the fact that it hasn't grown is somewhat reassuring. Are you able to talk to your GP about your concerns?I had to have a full body bone scan just before Xmas because a liver enzyme blood test was elevated.I was very anxious but it was all clear.I also had to have an abdominal ultrasound which showed up that I have a fatty liver- not good, but not cancer. It's such a relief when it's not cancer- limbo land is awful and I really feel for you.Be pro active until you have some piece of mind. Big hug,Tonya xx
