Hey Kathryn, here I am. I am newly diagnosed and have got the My Journey Kit which has information on the different types of BC, but the way my doctor explained my pathology results is that Infiltrating ductal carcinoma is the type which begins in the milk ducts and has the ability to spread to other tissue i.e., outside of the milk duct. I also have papillary features to my BC which I am also told is not good. The scans I have show no mass in bones or organs, but we won't be sure if cancer cells are in the lymph nodes until we have them removed and tested. Will have my first appointment with surgeon this Wednesday to discuss how many lymph nodes need to be removed.
