I am so sorry that this post and the comments flowing from it have caused you offence. You have been such a wonderful source of advice and support and I am so sad that you have found any of this hurtful. I would not use terms like 'freak' or 'frankenstein' to describe anyone else, ever, but I can completely understand how other women might have these thoughts about themselves. I think it would be a very distressing frame of mind and my heart goes out to anyone that feels that way.
I had hoped to create a post that helped other women facing mastectomy to understand why not having reconstruction is a legitimate choice. There seems to be so much pressure to have it, and it's not for everyone.
As you know, I'm a strong advocate for everyone with breast cancer making their own choices based on their own diagnosis, prognosis and personal preference. Reconsruction is not for me but I know many women are very happy with it.
I don't think any of us are freaks of frankensteins. That includes all the women who think they are.
