Your arguments are exactly why I chose not to have reconstruction. My husband was also fully supportive and did not favour any unnecessary surgery given that I had already had bilateral and hysterectomy in the same year.
If I was younger, as some of our lovely pink sisters are, my decision may have been different, but for now I am sure that I made the right one for me at this time of my life. And the freedom when exercising is a wonderful side benefit!
The 8th August will come quickly. Front-opening pjs are good for night check-ups (although hospital gowns are easiest of all) and small pillows to prop under the arms at night are comfortable and stop you rolling over. The exercises can be started gently almost at once but take care not to overdo things (I suspect we are both over-achievers).
Will be thinking of you, Meg. Take care and let us know how things are going. Let Graham spoil you when you get home - he will never be more appreciated. Only 9 days and it's over. And it's gone! Big hug.
