I have just had my first Mammagram since they discovered my lump in Mar 2012 (and all the treatment and everything that comes with the diagnosis now completed).
Here I am, once again, awaiting my results from the Oncologist on Wed 16th Jan and it got me wondering how many more folk on this board are sitting in the Waiting Room with me.

If it is any consolation I had the same thing end of last year and had to wait for my results. It is a very trying time for you my luv so my thoughts go out to you and wish you well and good luck on Tuesday.
Once you have your treatment plan you can go in to organisation mode and plan your life as best you can.

Hi Mary,
good luck with the wide excision today, are they doing the blue dyd and the wire 1st. I found those very taxing the actual surgery was a breeze as I was sound asleep through that.
You are getting your results back quickly too, that is a plus, you know what yhou are dealing with and what your next step is.

I had a routing mammogram on Tuesday 18th December and was back the next day for a biopsy. I spoke to my GP Practice and had the results Thursday evening. I actually got to speak to my GP on Friday 21st and was then starting the process of referrals. Like you everyone was on holiday. I find for me, the waiting without the knowledge is the hardest. I get a wide excision later this morning but my follow up with the specialist is not until the 17th. I have already made an appointment with my GP to see heer Friday. She should have the results. I want to discuss them with her soo I can process the information.
I realise this would not suit a lot of people so I wish you really well in your wait and the results from your wide excision and node biopsy. I guess you have now had the news.

Glad your treatment is all finished and you are on your way to recovery, wellness and good health.
I am not in your waiting room at present as have had my mammogram and requested an ultrasound and I received those results back to say nothing evident from those so I class that as all clear. I can finally say I am cancer free.
So I am not in the waiting room anymore but if I could I would come and sit in the chair next to you chatting away to keep you occupied and hold your hand if needed.

With your wig you should be also able to borrow one thru a wig service through cancer council. I did that and ended up loving that wig better than my very expensive $400 one.

I feel your waiting pain. I had five weeks between surgery and finally meeting with an oncologist...who then gave a weekend to decide if i was going to have chemo or not. Happy christmas eve to me. Don't think there's ever a good time to be diagnosed...but the pre christmas period/annual hospital shut down has to be the pits. I can't even organise counselling for myself until they're back at work tomorrow. Or wigs...fortunately I should be able to swing getting one of these before all my hair falls out!
