I found my lump(2003).I was in the shower and thought I hadn't checked myself for awhile. There it was,a 2cm lump at 6 o'clock on my left breast.I had a lumpectomy, full node clearance and radiation.7 years later(2010)cancer came back in the same spot. This time it was picked up on mammogram.I couldn't feel it and it had grown 3cms in a year.Hardy little buggers aren't they.

Hi all I found my Lump on Friday morning 8th Sept '11. just out of the shower drying off had some face cream left over on my hands and deceided to spread it on my chest and wooah at about eleven o'clock on my right breast this lump, straight in to my husband ,here feel this, shoving my boob at him, not now dear I have to get to work. Well off to GP an hour later , on his examination lying down on the table he couldn't find it ,but when I protested he examine me standing there it was, and the rest as they say is history. As a result of having breast cancer another primary was found on my right lung so with Chemo ,radation and further surgery on my lung I'm still here . PS It was 14 months since my last mammogram when found.
- dmedMemberMy puppy dog use to take a running jump to sit on my knee one night in March last year he jumped at me but hit my left breast quite hard and day after thinking I was sore in that breast I found a lump . I had a mammogram in the previous October it didn't show up then and didn't show up the day I went for my mammogram but showed up on the ultrasound and so the journey began.

Yep... my husband gave me a 'cuddle without benefits' on April 1st.... said he felt a lump in my left breast... I thought he was just kidding.... but no he was right....
GP the next day, scans a few days later just before the Easter Weekend. Surgery April 13th.... chemo (FEC and TAXOL), Radiation, ovaries removed... and now on Arimidex for the next 5 years....
2012 is a bit of a blur... but looking forward to a happy and healthy 2013!!

I too was having a shower late on 29th July 2006 (remember it so well) and found the lump. Of course wanted to "check it out". Went to GP on Monday......the rest is history. Second time around in 2010 the young Radiologist found the lump in my armpit. I owe her my life. I will never forget her pretty face. XLeonie

Hey girls
My hubby found my lump. I was having a shower and washing my hair so arms up in air. He had just returned from 3 weeks fo working away so was having a perve while I in shower (as they do mmmmm). Anyway he says, what's that? I thought yeah sure you just want a grope but sure enough there was a lump.
I had had a mammogram exactly 12 months earlier. Even when I had mammogram after finding the lump it wasn't picked up on mammogram, ultrasound had radiologists thinking it could be a fibroadenoma but there were 2 out of 5 things suggesting otherwise eg. shape, size so had a core biopsy which came back positive for cancer.
Had lumpectomy on right breast then total axillary clearance as 2 positive nodes present then 6 cycles of chemo and 35 sessions of radiotherapy and currently on Femara (after trying tamoxifin) and will be for next 5 years minimum.
Sometimes it is worthwhile hubby perving or groping hee hee. He would kill me if he knew I was putting this out there but it is worth people being aware.
Good luck and good health to all my pink sisters.

- LouiseTurnerIn MemoriamI found my lump and left it for a couple of months thinking it felt like a fibroadenoma that I have had removed twice before. The GP agreed and I went along for the usual scans and it turned out to be 2 x primary cancers. Two years earlier i had scans and biopsy for a third fibroadenoma which I decided to not have surgery on. The scans then did not show any cancer at that time. So two years was the time it took for the lump to be palpable and for it to show in ultra sound and mamo scans. My journey: 2 x lumpectomy, AC x 3 months, taxol x 3 months, hercepton x 12 months, then double mastectomy and reconstruction, tamoxifen x 5 years, possible removal of ovaries.......sounds horrible but typical but I'm luckier than many and look forward to complete recovery.
