Hi Josie,
So glad you could get in today. When people ring, for charity calls and telemarketers etc. they ask is that a suburb or Brisbane. I have to have a chuckle at that. I often thought when I went in for chemo, that I was glad that I didn't live further out west, as people from out there had to come in every 3 weeks. One lady who lived nearly the same distance as me from Rockhampton got more for travel assistance than me. Her hospital was in the town and mine was about an hour and 15 mins I think from us, but closer to Rockhampton, so I only got half the travel money. I was able to come home for a couple of weekends during radiation to Rockhampton, as we just bought a house at Gracemere to rent out. We had to fix it up before renting it out. Nothing like doing chemo, radiation etc. and fixing up a house my daughter said. I also flew up to Mackay for my daughters 21st while down in Brisbane.
You'll be looking back like me a year ago from now and think that went fast, but it doesn't at the time.
Take care and not long before you can go home for the weekend.
Kay
