We're about 3 and a half hours away from where I got chemo and our biggest town, and they only found out about my blood tests the day before they ordered them.One time the truck that got the blood had something go wrong and we nearly didn't find out results so that would have put my chemo back a bit further. My daughter in law had to have an ultrasound for her baby and before we got there (which was 3 1/2 hours drive as well) they said the one who was doing it couldn't come in. We had to try and get in somewhere else as we didn't take any clothes down to stay overnight.
I was away in Brisbane doing radiation, for 6 weeks (25 treatments) (about 11 hours away from home), so when the machines were down for maintenace and there was long weekends, it made the stay quite a bit longer. Lucky I was able to stay at our daughters place with her husband and our grandsons. I wish I could live an hour and a half out of town like you.Sometimes they put me on another one. I was always about 6 hours or so travelling to and from the hospital on the transport they provided.One bus driver was near my daughters house, once on the day I really needed to be home as I wasn't coping well that day, and he decided to take another lady home first, so I think I had another 3/4 of an hour before I got back home.
Do they only have one machine? Hopefully the machine is up and running soon for you so that treatment can be finished.
