Hi,
When I was told that I needed a mastectomy I was advised by my breast surgeon and oncologist to wait until after I had radiotherapy to have the reconstruction (you may not be having this).
Also, while I was in hospital I shared a room with someone who had an immediate reconstruction but it did not "take" and she had to go back under to have it removed.
So give it a good think through.
