Where has the year gone!
Well I can't believe that it is now nearly 2 years since I had my double mastectomy. So much has happened since then!
I was due to go to the Reach to Recovery in Taiwan in November and 2 days before I left, my daughter had an epileptic seizure for the first time (she is 18). Hence I did not make it to Taiwan! After numerous tests and many months later, she has been diagnosed with epilepsy - controlled by Epilim but a bugger!
With regard to BC - My mother and sister have the BRCA2 gene (I didn't and nor my youngest sister) and the sister with the gene is having a prophylactic bilateral mastectomy in September. She had her ovaries out in December and has decided to rid herself of any risks!!
I am seeing my specialist in a couple of weeks to decide if I will have my dicky left boob "fixed"! Because of the surgeries (6 in total) it has lots of scar tissue and hence the implant does not quite sit properly like the right side. Whilst being lopsided annoys me sometimes, after being completely fit and healthy now since Feb 11, I am not sure that I can bring myself to go through more surgery (although should be quite minor). Will see how I feel in a few weeks.
Anyway will keep you posted!
Bye
Leanne
