Where do I start......

Step 1 - try not to panic!!
Saw my breast surgeon today and mentioned the bowel trouble and that I had a CT scan yesterday, not reported on. She had a look at scan and didn't like what she saw.....about 6-8 scattered white spots under the fat layer I think she said of stomach, and thickening of lower bowel...she rang radiologist asked them to report it immediately then was going down to see them, making her patients wait ....she rang my GP who was off today so I messaged her and asked if my surgeon could call her - they discussed it and my GP had organised an appt with specialist for Monday.
Sooooooo, not impressed but thankful for them organising fast - am just wanted to spill my guts basically.
Here I go on the not so merry go round again.
  • @LucyBell I hope you don't have too long a wait for the answers let us know how your getting on.
    Thinking of you
  • Praying for you LucyBell, and while I'm not metatastic, chemo has been ok for me.  hoping for the best possible results for you  <3
  • Dear @LucyBell. This is all very hard for you. It's great your drs are moving on this quickly so they will know how to treat this for for you. Good luck for Thursday. Sending much love ❤️
  • Tumour marker for bowel cancer is very high, urgent colonoscopy on Thursday and my GP organising medical Oncologist this arvo....
My surgeons senior bowel surgeon said - 1. do I have bowel cancer or is it breast cancer mets,,,,2. need a histology to see if I am sensitive to certain biologics - does that mean chemo shit?? 3. am i going to have a bowel obstruction that requires a resection or bypass......A good colonoscopy will give most of the answers...theres more but - I'm off to bed :( I've been flat out all day doing stuff to keep busy.....
  • Best wishes @LucyBell. Good your drs are acting quickly for you. Hope your appointments go well. Keep busy, you know the drill and agree don't panic. Focus on you most definitely. Sending much love
  • Ok get it done and try and switch off....I'll hit this head on whatever it is.....I wish I'd pushed the issue a bit more with GP a few months ago, I saw a naturopath thinking it was just constipation, but also looking up symptoms, which seem to have escalated.....I finished radiation in July. Shite time of year to be getting any sort of diagnosis - unless it's a good one !! Push to get that CT done.....we know our own body so anything abnormal look into it and don't let them flip you off.  I've been too long caring for others so now I'll be looking after me. Best luck, let me know how you go. x
  • @lucybell I hope it turns out to be c something benign,  but if it doesn't, at least you've done the right thing in mentioning bowel issues. Stay strong.
I had appt with oncologist yesterday and she's ordered abdominal Ct as I'm getting tender in that area,  and MRI on right hip. She says not to worry as she's confident it's not cancer but how can I not!
Stay strong,  as you can be anyway.  X
