When does side effects kick in, again?

Hi. I had a 4+ week break from exemastane due to side effects and I found that I was able to squat again and my ankles/feet did not hurt as much.  So the onc changed my meds to Letrozole.  I’ve only been on it since last Friday, but already, squatting is painful and I find it difficult to start walking right away.

so my question is - when you had a break from one medication and then was switched to another, do long did it take until the side effects returned?

Thanks
  • @Temple
There's a lot of factors that are very individual on how the body metabolises, reacts and if menopause is part of the equation.
Hopefully you are one that sails through without side effects.
    Take care
  • Not getting many side effects from Arimidex ..... fingers crossed you won't either.  Just the odd hot flush & sore foot. Tho I am taking some oils that have helped, I think
  • I’d like to know how soon people after people started taking Arimidex they started to feel any side effects? what kind?
  • Hi @jintie - sadly, those two (if you are going to get side effects) are well known for them.   I started on Letrozole, then went to Exemestane and now on Arimidex, which I am handling much better, tho I am taking some oils to help alleviate the side effects.

Hang in there & I hope your side effects don't get worse, so you can keep squatting!  All the best for 2020 xx

  • @jintie I've tried a few different meds now. Letrozole exemastane and tamoxifen. It's one of those individual things. Some side effects come on really quickly for me and others are a slow build over a few months. Unfortunately it really is one of those wait and see type situations. Everyone reacts differently.
  • They can appear in first couple of weeks unfortunately but some can improve over next few months.
