I would say that the core biopsies I had were the worse part of my cancer journey! The lady who looked after me was wonderful and I coped ok with the first one but needed a second one in the same breast but different area an hour later. I was told I could come back the next day or stay to get it done then! Wow It was very painfully and I had bleeding the next day, enough to call to check on it. The second area was very sore and badly bruised for a week or so. The area was indented when I next saw my surgeon. I have a high pain threshold but it really hurt me. Since then I have had a double mastectomy and immediate reconstruction which was unfortunately unsuccessful due to skin issues after radiation 12 years previously. I have now had implants removed and all is good except for one sore area just where I had the second core biopsy! Coincidence maybe but I don't think so! Anyway nothing to have a core biopsy on but if you need me I will help out if the process will help other women.
