I had a core biopsy & l hated it. I am extremely needle / procedure phobic, & whilst it was very well explained, l was terrified. The nurse & sonographer were both lovely, but the Dr who did the procedure yelled at me when l said l was scared -"That doesn't make my job any easier , so stop saying things like that!" Etc etc so l went into shock & was too scared to say anything else at all. Pain wise, l was given local, but l honestly think l was too scared to know if it had worked or not. I had swelling, pain & bruising for the week after. The only good thing the Dr did was warn me of the loud click each time a sample was taken (3 times) . I would never consider any invasive procedure for research.
