I think I had three done with ultrasound. I took 2 Panadol an hour before the procedure, so I found the procedures only involved minor pain and some pushing sensations. I've had sclerotherapy on my legs, so perhaps that experience made it less overwhelming. I found one of the fine needle aspirations of the lymph node more painful. The staff were good, explained the noise, waited a little longer for the local to work when I felt the sting of incision. My tumour was on the outside of the breast, so perhaps that made it less uncomfortable. I felt completely at peace in the hands of the staff, so that also helped. I had some bruising, but I felt comfortable enough to go visiting gardens the next day with a friend without mentioning it. So I could manage a research core biopsy. Tough gig though, most of us will have had so many procedures of one sort or another.
