Hi I can't help you with advice about the public system as I went private. I had 2 surgeries to get my cancer and they couldn't get a good margin so was advised to have a mastectomy. I had chemo first and then had mastectomy with immediate reconstruction with (tramflap ). This was very long surgery, I'm really happy with the result. I agree just because you are a public patient you should be able to have a choice it is a part of your body you are losing. Good luck hopefully you will get some answers
