HI Susan, I was extremely lucky that my GP wasted no time and sent me straight to a surgeon who is a breast cancer specialist. When I told him the symptoms he said I described Paget's Disease exactly, within 2 weeks I was being operated on. The tumour itself was quite small, but the cancer had spread to my lymph nodes, hence the months of treatment that followed.
But like you, I'm about to undergo reconstruction which is exciting but a little worrying that it involves yet more operations.
