Well This is the Story So Far...
Once upon a time (Nov 2004) there was a teenager called Breast Cancer (BC for short), who decided with totally no input from me that it wanted to be my very BBF and moved into the apartment in my left breast. The estate agent tried everything in her power to evict BC and to ensure there was no return did some fumigation and also some heat seeking radiation..
Well, that seemed to do the trick alright.. For many years I lived in peace and harmony with my body (that is my story and I am sticking to it !!!).. But one day, the dark clouds moved in and it started to rain all the time :(.. and I was unwell for what seemed like foreveeeeerrrrrr.. Until finally I cracked the foundation timber on the 4th floor of the apartment block and went for a "pest" inspection (Nov 2012)..
It was not as we expected though.. the 4th floor was just fine, just a bit of dry rot and in time would repair itself and be as good as new.. But the inspection found that BC had snuck in the side entrance and taken up residence in my "lower levels" (left Iliac Crest).. (insert jaws music here x). Unfortunately BC had not grown up at all even after all this time and was still acting like a spoiled teenager, and what was worse had brought along stacks of friends who took up residence in rooms all over the apartment block.. so parties at all hours of the day and night never any letup at all.
So, after some further expert pest inspections it was decided that a course of fumigation would be the very best bet to dispatch these unwelcome guests.. and for the most of it a large reduction in the amount of tenants was achieved in a very short time (yes, call me a murderer if you wish - I am happy with that tag :)
But the inspector was still not happy and sent me to Uncle Tom (Gyno and if you met him you would understand many call him that LOL.. such a gentle and caring person :) to make sure that my "over friendly" kitchen (ovaries) stopped feeding all the tenants which made it much more difficult to evict them (or starve them to death hehehehehehe).
So he cut them loose (and they and took lots of pictures to prove it (mmmm there may be something very strange and wrong with that...).. and today he showed me his handy work.. (excellent resolution indeed).. It turns out that BC had actually made a hostile takeover of my kitchen and had a knife at it's throat to make it feed all the tenants.. But in the end the kitchen sacrificed itself for the good of the rest of the apartment block..
I will always remember my kitchen fondly and the sacrifice it made for the cause.
So now the inspector is hoping that with no food and and influx of new tablets (like Tamoxifen but for mature ladies like me lol - suppose I will find out soon enough) that I will not need anymore fumigation.. But I would not be at all surprised if after a test or two the fumigators are at my door again to try to get it to zero.
and really.... zero forever is where I want to be ? ? so, I take every day as it comes.. and to be dealt with grace and good humour.. I am a survivor and I refuse to see it any other way
