Weight gain and aching bones

Hi Out there - been a while - been a little busy - I have had my 4 lots of AC treatment and now up to number 5 of 12 weekly taxol treatment and am having severe aches and pains in my right leg travelling up to lower right back - cant do anything when this pain comes - I have also gained 8 kilos in 3 to 4 months since treatment began - any thoughts or similarities anyone.  Thanks

Never give up  (even when I feel so fat)

  • Hello

I have found the Taxol to be quiet similar to the AC - although no realy bad nausea with either - I feel fortunate for that, my fingers and toes are faring better with Taxol - Energy levels can really drop for me - but is that because it is all just catching up with me? - I really believe in the positive attitude - I find the time goes really quick in the day ward - the staff are always very kind and caring - and I usually read - I see people supported by families and for me I dont want that - I go in by myself and dont have to worry about how anyone else is feeling for a while. i am up to no 5 Taxol and things will get quicker now for me - no blood test for 2 whole weeks - woo hoo -  I have radiation treatment at the end of this 12 weeks

also but have experience radio in 2007 for a small lump in my other breast - and remember the experience was very quick and painless - just skin damage and sunburn by the end of the 6 weeks.  anyway girls nice to know we are never alone in this wierd time.

  • Hi

I have just had number 8 of Taxol and I have suffered as well with the aching bones, usually in my shins and hips and sometimes in my back.  I would describe mine as a manageable low grade ache that never quite goes away until the day before my next treatment.  Sometimes I will get a sharp stabbing pain that only lasts a few seconds but takes me by surprise. I haven't gained any weight during my AC and Taxol, but my other annoying side effect is a blocked dry, bloody nose which apparently is caused by loss of nose hairs. Oh the joys of it all!!
