Waiting for results... again

When I was first diagnosed back in January and had the standard CT scan, the report showed a few tiny spots in each lung, around 1mm each. My breast surgeon and oncologist both said it was most likely an overzealous registrar who wrote the report, as a 1mm spot would be near impossible to see on a blurry CT image. They went ahead with my treatment plan as though the spots were nothing. However, since they had been reported, they booked me in for a follow up chest CT after 6 months just to be sure. Well, today was that test. I now have a week to anxiously await my result and, hopefully, find out the spots were, indeed, nothing. I had put all this to the back of my mind during treatment, trusting my docs completely. Now I have to deal with the what-ifs. It's gonna be a long week, I think.

  • Here's hoping its just a pathogen @Joannie. Best wishes xxxooo
  • Thanks @LMK74 I have been following your story. Totally sucks. Good luck with radiotherapy. My skin didn't cope too well, but I still found it sooo much easier than chemo and healed really quickly too. I hope you get the all clear too when your tests come up.

  • Hi @Molly001, I hear you. I've finished chemo had my mastectomy and start radiation on 26 September. I'm being sent for another ct scan, bone scan, and bone density because chemo was a complete failure and so was zoladex in shrinking my tumor. So now they want to check in case it spread. Somehow we just gotta go with it. I hope you get the all clear.
