Waiting for pathology results.

Hi everyone,

This is my first post, as I have visited, but haven't been daring enough.

I was diagnosed just over a month ago. I can't believe how my life has changed. I, like others try not to use the "Big C" (cancer)word to often, as it makes it too real & I end up crying. I recently had a Sentinal Node Biopsy & a Lumpectomy. I was discharged from hospital the next day, which I was happy and positive about. I've been travelling ok, but yesterday it hit me......The wait is nearly over.( Even though I've been told that I will most likely have radiotherapy & hormone therapy, we all know that can change) A couple of days and I'll be receiving my pathology results, and the rollercoaster continues. At the same time I feel like I have been let off lightly compared to a lot of you. Thanks for listening,

Cheers Dan..xo

  • Not so hard after all, best place for advice or to vent or ask questions about anything. At least when you know your next step you can at least jump online again if you need. Your not alone. I was thrilled when I had my first reply to my first blog, I didn't feel so alone. Regards adean

  • Hi Dan, glad to hear you came through your op ok, once you get your pathology results you will have a plan and the waiting will lessen. I used to think because I had a lumpectomy that maybe I got off easy, not so, it's all cancer and everybody is so different from each other. Welcome to the network and any questions you have will be welcomed by everybody, there is always someone on here who can help. All the best with your results, let us know how you go,

    Hazel xx

Yes, the we can get through the basics then the waiting game hits hard - as long as you are confident with your medical team you will be OK. Visit this site as often as you want because you will see posts that show others are feeling the same as you - and you will get a heap of helpful tips to ease your path. Ask questions of others, even if you think they are silly questions - every thought that enters your head is important. We will keep track of your progress so keep posting. • Hi Dan,

There will always be support here for you, so come online whenever you need to talk or want support.  The waiting is the hardest part.  Once you get your pathology results, things will move quickly.  You will know the stage and the grade and have an action plan. A positive move is to get a folder and some plastic sleeves, and keep copies of all your paperwork from the beginning.  Ask for copies of any reports or schedules and file everything. It will be so much easier later on when you need details.  I hope things go well for you.  Keep in touch and let us know how you go.  Cyber hug. xx  Michelle
