Venlafaxine xr
Since starting on venlafaxine a few days ago I have noticed my mouth is very dry. Is there anyone here who takes this medication. Is this a common side effect? If so, please tell it will pass.

I am trying to wean myself off venlafaxine after using it for about six months. Please do some research on the withdrawal symptoms before you continue taking it (and read some user blogs, not just what the drug company and doctor tell you). It is the worst; and there are many who just never get off it. I am tapering off very slowly but have been going through hell... headache, dizzy, nauseous, shakey, flu symptoms, brain zaps etc...
I don't judge anyone for taking anti-depressants; I think they are very necessary for some especially with a breast cancer diagnosis but maybe ask your doctor if there is an alternative to venlafaxine to save yourself some pain further down the track.
