Update

Gee, time flies doesn't it?! I can't believe it has been so long since I have put a post on here (I've answered some and nosied around but haven't put one up myself since September last year!!).

Health-wise things are going pretty well (as far as I know!).  The tamoxifen isn't giving me too much in the way of side affects - some hot flushes and irregular periods but that's about it.  I am heading back to the operating table on 14th March for a bit of tweaking on the reconstruction side of things.  The implant that I had is a bit big and I feel quite lop-sided so the surgeon is going to replace it with a smaller one.  At the same time he is going to do a bit of scar revision but I will only be in hospital overnight, which is nice :)

I have a small lump on the side of my neck that I'm a little bit concerned about but strangely enough I'm in denial that it is anything to worry about!  You would think after having BC twice I would be paranoid and getting it checked straight away but it's been there for a few months now and I haven't been to the doctors yet!!  It's only really little and hasn't changed at all (I think its probably just a lymph node) so I will get the oncologist to check it out for me when I go to see her on Friday next week....hopefully she can put my mind at ease.  I am hoping that its just not going away because I keep playing with it!

Anyway, hope everyone is well (or as well as can be expected) and keeping a positive frame of mind.  Will be back sometime soon,

Louise xx

  • Yay, the oncologist told me that there are actually two very small lumps in my neck (about 2 millimetres in size) but that they are nothing to worry about.  I still don't know what they are (!) but she said not to worry about them so I'm not :)

I went back into hospital on Wednesday for the replacement of my prosthesis and the new one seems to be a lot better size.  The scar revision has left me very bruised and battered but I'm feeling pretty good and taking it as easy as possible.

    Take care,

    Louise
