Update!

Just realised its been about a month from my last post! I do log in many times a day to get my addiction for the BCNA website feed. lol...

Well finally got the date of my next surgery 6th September :) Cant Wait!

Got a busy month planned, have to work a couple of shifts, support group meetings, and going into the city a couple of times to the Breacan Clinic and the Living Centre for some activites. Plus just normal life routine thrown in there too... lol...

My mental state has improved I think. I tend to have a good week, then a really crap one, lmao... suffering from fatigue, constintly tired have to go in for some blood tests this week. My sister recently returned from overseas (see profile picture) and she has been a great support I did go down hill a little bit without her, lol... Made a great friend via this website, who I speak to like everyday, which really helps too....

Things still get me worked up, like silly fights, work or centrelink, which is strange coz I dont think I use to be such a wringer, lol... i think some days my mum just wants to tell me I'm wrong to say those things, but she just bites her tongue and lets me vent about silly things lol...

Other than that I've looked back over the yr and really gone WOW look at what I've been thru this yr. still feel anxoius about is the cancer really gone! did I get the wrong diagnoses. but when I see my specialist next I know what questions to ask, then hopefully no more doubt and if so 2nd opinion here I come, lol... I feel deep down inside like its still there, I cant explain it but I just think its gonna come back or its still there. my ride is not over yet on this rollarcoaster!

Also calling any women from Melbourne area who are around 28 yrs old, I'm trying to find a support group that handles young women issues (especially around finances and family after breast cancer)  & perhaps to start some sort of program to help the newly diagnosed!

  • Hi Leonor,

How r u going? whats been going on in your story? I'm not doing the Gawler Foundation at the moment - I feel its more important for those going thru Chemo etc to get the benefit out of that. :) This month I have alot of stuff going on have a support group meeting next friday (aug 12th) for young women (most have families) the meeting is in Cranbourne Nth if your interested let me know.

Then the following week, doing some meditation, art therapy and a seminar for women who have been thru a mastecomy. aug 22nd I'm going to a seminar on fatigue (as that is my major struggle at the moment) Then on Sep 2nd going to the living centre for a sexuality and self esteem day. :)

Then my next part of my reconstruction surgery is booked in for sep 6th.

  • Nice to hear from you again...I just turned 32, living in Melborune as you know, Im also super interested in young woman issues...count on me!...Are you starting the 12 weeks program at Gawler Foundation?...I feel it is very useful for us...Keep in touch,
