As I had chemo, I did not do anything too major while undergoing this. They recommend a balanced healthy diet during and after chemo. Things I have changed are no alcohol (as this is a risk factor for getting BC), more fresh vegetables and fruit, no processed foods and less meat. I buy organic to avoid the risk of pesticides and chemicals wherever possible.
Exercise is also very important. I walk, swim and do Pilates. These changes not only reduce my chance of getting a recurrence but I feel better and have a better quality of life. I figure something or more likely a combination of things resulted in me getting cancer so I have removed as many risk factors as I can. Can't do anything about being female and getting older!
