Hi Rachel, I had a small infection on my abdominal wound and on the fold underneath my reconstructed breast that took a good 6-8 weeks to heal and close over properly. I had a couple of rounds of antibiotics, used silver wound dressings and kept the wounds clean with a saline solution each day and tried not to do too much that would pull on the areas while they healed. The scars for both areas are now really good - used bio-oil - but the areas that were infected are slightly more noticeable some 12 months down the track.
Anyway, here's hoping you're on top of the infection and all heals well for you now on in - no more moving furniture for a little bit! Jane xx
