Underarm pain?

My surgery was 4 months ago now, I had a bilateral mastectomy after DCIS was found on the right side. I had 3 lymph nodes removed from the right and one from the left. I've started feeling a sort of pain under my right arm, it's hard to describe, it sometimes is like a jolt of pain other times its just a funny heavy feeling. I do not have any swelling at all, and the pain doesn't run down my arm or anything. I am seeing my Doc on Thursday so I will ask, but just wondered if anyone had similar. Many thanks Jo :-)
  • Hi Jenali, I had a lumpectomy also due to a bleeding nipple, I had no lumps so no one thought it would be BC, so it was quite a shock. Doc found about 2.5cm so my options were radiotherapy and chance it or a mastectomy. As you know I went with the latter, and it was my choice to do both. For peace of mind and a bit of vanity, at 47 I still wanted my boobs to look the same! So I have had my tissue expanders in since July 23 and am getting my implants on the 17th December hopefully. It's a personal decision that only you can make, I try to stay positive but I have my "why me" days too. Hope that all goes well for you and your sister. Cheers, Jo Oh and I love my tattoo too!
  • Hi Balijo, My sister was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 mnths ago and still has pain where the lymph nodes were removed. Bothers her more than the lumpectomy scar.

I was diagnosed with DCIS almost 6 weeks go and had a lumpectomy to confirm diagnosis as the needle biopsy was inconclusive but am waiting on gene test results before any thing further is done. I am at that cross roads. Breast conserving treatment with radiotherapy or double mastectomy. I hope you don't mind me asking but how did you decide?

Nice tattoo by the way and you sound so positive and on top of everything, makes me feel there must be days without tears ahead.
