Tumour Marker Tests
Hi all
Haven't been on for a while as my Mum passed away from cancer on Mothers Day (yeah great!) and recovering from that and then found out today that after going to the GP and not feeling well, ...
I had them first done in 2011 after I had breast cancer and had a mastectomy. I have had them done 3 times since and my markers have gone from 18 to 24. My GP did not know if it meant cancer or not. I saw my surgeon for my check up the other week and asked him did it mean the cancer was back. Did not know and said markers are not always a good indication. I see my Onc in November and I will have another lot of blood tests before I see her and will see what she says.
I worried myself each time they went up. Many things can cause it to go up , not related to cancer. I am not going to do my head in about it will just wait and see. No use getting all stressed when it may be nothing.
I was told they cause more worry than good.
Keep us informed.
Big Hugs Debbie
