tummy upsets

Hi all...
does anyone else find they get quite ill (tummy upsets/nausea that sort of thing) when the drugs they are on seem to stop working in the cancer cells..maybe the body takes all the chemo knocks as the cancer cells are not absorbing it???? I have found this with taxotere, oral Xeloda and now either carboplatin or abraxanxe (on both so dont know which has stopped-maybe both)..Oncol appt tomorrow to set out a new plan, but i have been really ill yesterday and today (bit better) after chemo last wed, and it occurred to me last night that at the 'end of a working treatment' is when i get like this-no other time...just wondering...hmmm

  • Hi Sam,

I am sorry to hear you are having a hard time atm with nausea/ stomach cramps and feeling ill. I hope the Oncologist can work out a new plan to ease the situation for you.

      Love to you,  Kathy. OOXX

  • Hi Sam

I have been like Serenity11, I have found that I suffer the cumulative chemo effect. I seem to take longer getting over each chemo I have. My tummy upsets and nausea seem to be harsher and longer..... Not fair is it??

You need to speak to your oncologist, and let them know. They may need to give you something stronger.

Good luck and keep us posted.

    Love Julie XX

  • Hi Sam,  Sorry to hear that you are not having a great time.  It makes sense what you are saying but I am sure your onologist will have more ideas.  Sorry  but I have not experienced this.  Hope you get some positive suggestions at your appt.  XLeonie
