Trying to find my way.

Hi all, my name is Nerida I'm 43 and was diagnosed in September. I don't know what sort I have, I didn't ask and no one has told me. It was 5cm and aggressive, it was hormone positive and her2 positive. 

I saw my GP and 22 days later was having chemo. I just had sentinel biopsy a week ago and thankfully that was clear. The chemo has worked amazingly  well the lump has gone but there is calcification through parts of the breast. So I'm having my left breast off in two and a half weeks. With radiation to follow.

Everyone I've spoken with had surgery first so I do sometimes worry about why mine wasn't treated that way. I just try and convince myself they know what there doing.

Sorry to ramble just feel quite overwhelmed by what's ahead. X

    Hi Nerida,

    Everyone is different so treatments are going to differ as well. You need to find a support group near you so you can talk to and meet others who have had BC. It is amazing how much better you will feel after seeing someone else who has gone through the same as you and come out the other side. You have done really well with the chemo  so I hope it coninues for you.

    Hi Nerida,

    Everyone is different so treatments are going to differ as well. You need to find a support group near you so you can talk to and meet others who have had BC. It is amazing how much better you will feel after seeing someone else who has gone through the same as you and come out the other side. You have done really well with the chemo  so I hope it coninues for you.

    Nerida, I did actually have surgery first, however there are ladies on here who have chemo first. I think the one positve for you is knowing how well your chemo works! I know not everyone has the same type of treatment, and I guess we just have to trust that our Drs do what's best for us. Did you ask the Dr his reasons? Maybe that will give you some peace do mind. Good luck with the rest of your treatment. Paula :)
