Triple Negative

Hi Ladies,

I am 43 and went through BC last year. I had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed - thankfully it wasn't in any of them. It was a 3.5 cm tumour that just seemed to come out of nowhere.

The Triple Negative diagnosis was a little scary to start with but I have learnt more about it now and it is not that bad!! 

I am through all my treatment and have just had my portacath removed. I know when you are going through the treatment, everyone says 'There is light at the end of the tunnel!' I was sick of hearing that as it was really hard work getting through the chemo and radio and just surviving each day!! But I am great now and looking forward to living my life to the fullest.

I found this forum a great avenue to vent your feelings to other people who understand!!

    Well done Val on finishing this hard BC  journey, a journey we never imagined we would travel.  So glad everything has gone well and you are now ready to live it up again. Stay happy, stay safe. Cheers Jo xx

    Hi I was diagnosed with triple negative breat cance November 2010, I had a lumpectomy and 2 nodes removed.  The nodes were clear'  After 3 different types of chemo, including a 3 week stay  in hospital with blood tranfusions, and strange boil like masses that could not be diagnosed I finally started radiation 10 months after surgery.  That went well.  Then within 2  months of finishing tratment they find a lump under my arm which proved to be maligant.  They believe it was from the original lump and have never had a lymph  node  diagnosed after the dye and removal of close nodes operation before.  I am now six weeks free of treatment and look welll and feel goood with good blood results.  So fingers crossed .  I am sixy five now and plan a lot more living to the full..

    Hi Mel, well done on finishing your treatment. Yes it would be  very hard to go through chemo but you did it and came out smiling in the end.  It must feel really good. You must be so proud of yourself.

    Stay positive and live  and enjoy every moment  cause you really deserve it........ I  think every woman who has had cancer deserves the world at her feet.
