Hi Kerrieanne
Deanne has said it beautiful and I haven't much more to add to her reply. However I will say that your oncologist has to give you ALL the facts good and bad and this doesn't mean that you will get a recurrence at all. I was diagnosed with TNBC (first lump) and ER+, PR+ & HER2+ (lump two), both in my left breast. My Oncologist told me that this happening was quite rare and proceeded to tell me the same as yours did that the TNBC cancer could recur within three years. She told me ALL the side effects of chemo which reduced me to tears and all I could focus on was that yes, I was going to get ALL the side effects and 'it' would come back. Everything gets magnified and out of proportion when you hear the 'bad bits'. Like Deanne says, none of us know what the future holds so I try not to worry about what I can't control. I can control my lifestyle and how I live it. So I am training myself to focus on the positives and put the negatives away in a box and throw away the key. Life is too precious to waste on worrying about things that may never occur.
Your thoughts will settle down and you will do the same as we have done Kerrieanne. You will 'carry on'.
Hugs to you
