The oncologist told me they werent going to test me automatically for the BRCA gene as I was over 40 but I could try and request it if I wanted to.
I dont have any family history of breast cancer that I know of either. But I think I would like to know, so will probably request it.
I am keen to just get on with it and get it done. I cut my hair spikey short a couple of weeks ago, it was half way down my back. Everyone seems to like it though! My kids are quite excited about my baldness, they are looking forward to sticking stickers on me i think.
I am glad to hear that you are past all the hard stuff and that you can get on with other, happier, things in your life now!
