Triple Negative too!
Hi ! My name is Nikki, I am 41 years old with 2 kids age 3 and 7. I found a small pea shaped lump in my right breast about 7 - 8 weeks ago. Since then I have had a right mastectomy and node clearan...
Fellow TNBC sista here. I found my lump last May, so I'm happy to say, for now, I'm at the end of my detour. I'm 41, was stage 3, no nodes involved. I did 3 months on AC & 3 months on Paclitaxel....was scary going in, but not the horror story I was expecting. Half way through chemo, I found out I was BRCA1 positive, so I cancelled radiation & had a hysterectomy, oophorectomy, bilateral matectomy & reconstruction....what a mouth full! My last op was almost 9 weeks ago, 4 weeks ago I got the all clear on my pathology.
My advice.....Keep away from Dr Google....he knows bugger all about TNBC. Drink heaps of water & be very strict with the mouth wash, I spent months with a mouth full of ulcers.
Day 14 after the 1st dose seems to be the day that your hair will start to really fall out. I shaved mine before chemo started, back while I was still in control. My kids 6 & 14 helped me shave it to a level 2. I think it prevented any shock they my have had once I was shiney (Homer) bald.
I'm with Michelle re: the natropath, sounds like you have it covered, but there are loads of thing out there that TN doesn't agree with. I was really quite shocked. My onc took me off everything but Vitamin C.
Wishing you all the very best in the coming months, yell out if there's anything else I can tell you about chemo side effects....I think I had them all!
