Triple Negative Breast Cancer

Hi lovely ladies,

Would love to connect with anyone who has triple negative breast cancer.

Any stories or advice would be greatly apprecaited.

I am currently into my 4th cycle of chemo, so rads and reconstruction still to happen.

I am 36 with two young children (boys aged 3 and 5).

I misscarried a week before my diagnosis on 9th March 2011.

3 tumours largest was 5cm, right breast mastectomy, 13 of 26 lymph nodes were positive, Stage 3C. Treatment is 3 x FEC and 3 x Taxotere.

Love and faith

  • Hi Christie,

I've just been through chemo 2 of FEC X6 for triple negative like yourself. Before starting the chemo I did an Echo, which is a ultrasound of the heart. You have been given a scan, which I haven't been asked to do as yet. I must say i feel my heart is a bit of a worry. I tend to get irregular heart beats/palpatations from time to time. I noticed it for some time before I was diagnosed with BC. Doc thought it might be from stress and anxiety, but I wonder if BC or something else was the underlying factor. Do you have any heart issues that you are concerned about or is it a routine procedure that the doc has asked you to do?

  • Hi

I have just seen the oncologist and learned that Im triple negative also. Im starting a combination FEC-T for 6 cycles next week. Going for a cardiac gaited scan on Friday, has anyone had this and what was it like??

Scary stuff but will be checking here for how everyone gets on with their treatments.

    xoxo Christie

  • Hi there triple negative sister :) you already know of my situation. I will be starting on Fec the day after tomorrow. Hope your taxotere treatment is going well.

Btw you mentioned something about steroids in one of your posts. I have to take it every day, because of a adrenal condition I also happen to have. That's another genetic stuff up.

Take care. Thanks for the chats.

  • Thanks Daina, and Katie that is incredibly cute... where do you live?

  • Hi Sheree,

I just wanted to say I wish you the very best of luck and I hope you sail through your treatment with ease.

Have faith in your self and enjoy your family

I have just finished Chemotherapy and my family were very important supports for me.

I got little love notes from my youngest each time I couldn't get out of bed to see them off for school.

    Cheers

    Hi Sheree,

I just wanted to say welcome to the online network, and I'm very glad you found your way to the site.

I thought you may find the site-wide search helpful in finding information on Triple Negative breast cancer.  I have just completed a search and it returned over 30 pages which include other members blog posts and pages from the BCNA website.

You can follow the link to view the results: http://www.bcna.org.au/search/node/Triple%20Negative

You might also find the 'Help' section of the website a great way to get started and find out about the site and its different features.

Good luck and if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
