Triple negative breast cancer

Hi Jaqui,

The encore program sounds good wish we had one up here on the Sunshine Coast.  It sounds like they either give all 3 at once or Taxol seperately depends on the doctor. How are your nails going. Mine aren't too bad though some are starting to weaken. I hate those cold gloves with a passion.  My oncologist also said to me that they will not be doing anymore scans it will just be a case of wait and see. Did yours say the same. Will be happy when treatment is finished but also dreading the waiting game.

Hi Renata,

I had the same diagnosis and treatment as yourself...I think its the standard treatment for TNBC. I had the AC fortnightly 4 times and then the Taxol weekly for 12 weeks and have just finished!!!! It is sooo exciting to actually finish chemo. Radio in about a month the same as yourself. I am in NSW and we are lucky to have a Gov program called Encore specifically for women who have been diagnosed with BC. We meet once a week and enjoy education about different subjects and then learn exercises to promote the use of affected arm.

Hi Jaqui,

I had a grade 3 tumour  1.5cm and have had a lumpectomy and lymph nodes removed and have one more round of chemo in 2 weeks then radiation therapy after a months rest. Can I ask what the encore program is? Triple negative does seem to be the rarer of the breast cancers I am finding. What chemo regeme were you on? I am on TAC Taxotere, Adriamycin and Cyclophosphamide every 3 weeks.

When I was diagnosed I was told TNBC was quite rare but there are 2 other women in my Encore programme who are about the same age and with the same diagnosis. Where are you up to with your treatment?

Sorry just realised that you told me you were 28 must be the chemo brain in action.

Just cruising the blogs.  Lovely to see you.  How are you going?  Has your hair grown really long or do you still have it short.  I can't sleep. The chemo prep drugs are hyping me up in readiness for the big drop on Sunday!!!! XLeonie
