Yes, it was a strange time. I'd been so focused on getting through the treatment that it was weird when I finished and had no appointments I had to rush off to all the time. It was kind of ... and now what? I was still too tired to return to work (as a primary school teacher). I started doing pilates classes twice a week to improve my strength and doing longer walks each day to improve my stamina. We live at Kawana, so I walked up over the Pt Cartwright headland which is beautiful, but also the hill is good exercise. I'm very lucky to have a group of girlfriends who I meet each week to walk and have coffee.
I went to Cotton Tree for treatment and the same oncologist as you. She is very good. How are you going with the treatment? Did the nurses give you the nail polish (Dr Lewinns)to keep your nails strong? It seemed to work, but I did get tired of applying it! I'm too lazy for nail polish :) Did you hear the news today...a new trial for triple negative is starting (only on mice so far).
I know a couple of other triple negative survivors, we're all a few years down the track and doing fine. It does seem to take a while to get over the sleepiness/ fatigue. So you have to pace yourself.
Good luck!
