I was hoping he would say that I can stop the injections; but he told me he thinks its best if my port is taken out. Not what I wanted to hear at all.
He said that if they couldn't draw blood from it last time, they probably won't be able to draw from it again - has anyone else heard that? Said that its not functioing correctly and with all the problems they have trying to access it (and make sure the chemo is going into my central line, not my chest) - the port isn't doing the job its supposed to. AWWWW CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Another procedure. I'm over it.
Only bonus is if I have the port out, the Clxane can stop. Small mercies??
So I'm in for my next round on Tuesday and I guess we'll make the decision then as to which way we'll travel. No PICC line either he said, so it will be vein. I'm going to look like Emula patches had a party on me.......LOL Any suggestions as to where they might try and hook me up?
