No problems with the questions. If I can answer them, I am more than happy to assist. My husband doesn't have cancer - Deep Vein Thrombosis. After lots of tests and screening, it looks like it is coming from Leidan 5 clotting disorder. He has very bad varicose veins which he was going to get fixed but now has to be put on hold. It is hereditery from his mother. My port turns on its side - no idea why maybe just the positioning but it hurts to get it flushed when the nurses have to find the right side up. As far as I know it is a straight needle. I haven't had any rashes. You might like to show the oncology nurses or if the rash is gone, let them know about it. Not sure what it could be. I don't have any itches either. When it was first put in (chemo started the next day) I had a hemotoma on the site. This took 8-9 weeks to disappear. I have a blood disorder though so that was probably the cause. My blood disorder is Factor XI deficiency (I don't clot).- sorry said this before above. My husband and I have only been married for 4 years. (been together 13 years) I was 43 when I met him so it was lucky we didn't have any children - both having blood disorders from one end of the spectrum to the other. XLeonie
