Hi Mel,

I'm 34 and have a 1 year old.  I was diagnosed in Nov last year with double positive BC and have since had a right mastectomy, 6 rounds of chemo and 5 weeks of radiation.  It's now been 5 weeks since I finished and to be honest, I feel really good.  I saw a Naturopath throughout my chemo and radiation and was just generally really 'good' to myself.  I accepted help from everyone who offered it too.  I tried all sorts of things to help with the FEC and Tax side effects and managed to cope with the physical side effects ok.  I relied on this website for the emotional side effects ... the women on here are wonderful and I'm proud to be a part of it.  If there's anything at all I can do, please just ask.

thanks for all your lovely messages.  I'm stage 2A, negative nodes, 3.4 cm tumour and TNBC. (sorry i made it look like elevenA... idiot:)...  Been on ivf and just found out that we have been able to freeze 5 embryo's ... which I'm am very thankful for.  It's just been such a rollercoaster and some days I cope with everything ok and then other days I feel like such a mess.  

I'll be on the same program as you, 3 rounds of FEC and then 3x Taxotere, how did you find it?  I'd love to hear how you coped with the drugs and looking after your young family at the same time?  

I too, miscarriaged just before finding the lump.  But I didn't know I was pregnant.  I was still breastfeeding and hadn't had my period back yet, then had my period (which I thought it was) and it was really really heavy.  I didn't think anything of it as so many women say your first period back after having a baby can be crazy.  Then, when I had my bloods done for IVF we found traces of HCG which proved that I'd just lost a baby.

Hi honey how are they still doing chemo with still being pregnant, what is the plan?

You poor thing.... how horrible for you.

I was 35 when diagnosed with Breast Cancer, and have since turned 36.  I have a 5 year old and a 3 year old son.  I was actually pregnant and  I miscarried at 10 weeks 2 days and a week later i found my lump.  So I kind of understand the rollercoaster ride you are on.... so many emotions, big hugs to you honey!

What is Stage 11A?

I have Stage 3C.  I had 3 tumours in my right breast and the largest was 5cm.  I had a right breast mastectomy and all 26 lymph nodes removed.  13 of these had cancer :(

I have just finished my chemo 2 weeks ago.  3 rounds of FEC and 3 rounds of TAXOTERE, all every 3 weeks.  I have just started my radiation, only 2 weeks after chemo finished.  2 treatments down and 23 to go.

I also have TRIPLE NEGATIVE BREAST CANCER. 

I generally try to block it out of my mind, but I just have to fight this thing for my little boys sakes.  I can't help but worry about the future.... so I can understand your emotions.

We did IVF directly after my mastectomy and froze 3 x embryo's.  It was just the right timing, as I started chemo 2 weeks after my mastectomy.

I'm 45 and was also diagnosed with TNBC in Oct. I have finally finished all treatments 4 rounds of AC 11 taxol and 6 weeks of radiation. Just want to reassure you that it was a long jonuery but you do get through it.

The whole thing happened so quick that i didnt really have time to think.  I wanted to have a mastectomy but my dr's thought i didnt need to so only had lumpectomy. Which now i think i regret since reading up on TNBC. From the information i've read i dont think i can every have a mastectomy on that breast..

I'm also in the two minds of doing the gentic testing as i have a family history of BC. The decisions are so hard and now that i have completed all treatments i feel a bit lost.

it's really hard to explain these things family and freinds as they dont understand how i feel. I'm so grateful for the success storys on BCNA. It helps me get through the tough days.

Again first up big hugs to you. Im in a pretty similar situation to you, Im 34 and am also triple negative. I had a LB mastectomy about 8 weeks ago and just had round one of FEC. Im secheduled for the same chemo as you and 5 weeks of rads to follow.

Chin up chick, if we can help in any way please ask. I know it has been nice to have some other ears to listen to my rants and stories lately. Have you  spoken to a specialist about harvesting eggs?
