Hi Deb
I agree with Wendy, its much better to consider what weight was removed with the mastectomy. With me they removed about 550g so I chose to go up a size, they put in an implant equivalent to 610 g from memory. The size is right but I have been back for surgery to remove scar tissue in the right breast as the shape was very flat, and now it is improved but still not the same as the left. The ps says they only thing that can be done now is insertion of some fat, thankfully can be done under local anaesthetic as I have made a vow NO MORE OPS!
My ps only filled the expanders to the volume of the implants. In fact he recommended a size under that which I went with in the end so it was a tight squeeze putting the final implants in!
I am sure everything will go OK, I remember worrying exactly like you are about choosing the final size. Friends kept saying you can't go wrong if you go one size bigger and it did seem that the only stories of disappointment were the ones where women felt that over time the breasts settled down and seemed too small.
I just wish everything would settle down so I can get some tattoo nipples!
Best of luck
Julie
