Tissue Expander

It has been a very long time since I have written in here. This week finally I am having my left expander put back in.

It's been nearly 3 years since it went wrong and needed removing. I have a few questions.

  • How long are you usually in hospital for when having an expander put back in?
  • How bad is the pain with just an expander being done?

I have been only told basically it depends on how much comes out of the drains they put in to how long I'll be in but surely there is some sort of an approximate.

I am eager at the same time very nervious to be having surgery again.

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

    Yeah I was shocked when they took it out that I was in only overnight. It's just hard trying to organise my kids etc when I don't know how long or an estimate. And yes it hurt when first done when I had bilateral mastectomy done but at that time really all my pain blended as one. I just hope this time works with no hiccups.
