Tired...
I feel tired....tired of all the talk about BC, tired of hearing about people dying, tired of there not being a cure for this horrible disease.
It seems like more and more ladies are being diagnosed, and so many as so young! So many seem to have secondaries - some live, some die. I know it is a fact of life and we don't get out of life alive but it's depressing :(
I'm not on here quite as much these days. I try to carry on with my life as normally as possible and try not to think about the possibility that I will have to face this for a third time...hopefully never again!
A friend has just been diagnosed with secondaries throughout her body and she has accepted it quite well, although obviously still has her down-times. It's just not fair! She was clear for about 30 years! She is now 62 years young and enjoying her grand-kiddies. She wants to see them grow up but knows that she won't. She has a new one coming early next year and I have the feeling that once this one is born, she will give up. I don't see her very often as she is a friend that I have made through another friend and really only see her when I see the other friend (if that makes sense). I want to be there for her but she doesn't want anyone around her at the moment. Maybe one day....
I look at my body in the mirror and, while I am really happy with the way that my plastic surgeon has put me back together, I am sad at the scars and the way that it doesn't look like my body any more. I feel like I've been cut up and put back together in a slightly different way....which I guess is what has happened! It's clever but weird....
Anyway, I hope everyone is travelling ok. I'm fine, just having a down-moment! Things will look better after a nice glass of red and dinner out with some old friends tonight :)
Love to you all,
Louise x
