Hello girls
I just wanted to let you know how I'm getting on. Today it is 4 weeks since my operation. Surgery went well and although the first few days were tough plenty of pain relieft and wonderful care meant I got through it with a smile on my face. The smiles continued when I received my final pathology results. All the cancer was still at DCIS stage and as both boobs are now gone apart from completing my reconstruction journey there is no other treatment required. It felt amazing to hear this and I feel nothing but relief about going ahead with this surgery. It was the right decision for me.
Four weeks post-op I know I'm probably doing too much. I went back to my office-based job yesterday and it was great to be back with my work mates.
On Monday I get my first "pump up" of saline, not sure what to expect regarding pain and discomfort. My surgeon seems to think she will only need to do this two or three times and we should be able to swap to silicone perm implants by October.
Thanks for support and advice. This support network is wonderful.
Love and every best wish to you all
